Explore Middle Tennessee’s unique and diverse fly-fishing opportunities. We float and wade for tail-water trout, stalk stream smallmouth bass and specialize in fly fishing the Cumberland River system for some of the finest inland Striped bass and Hybrid bass (Wiper) fishing in the country.

Striper & Hybrid Trips – J. Percy Priest-Cumberland River System (Old Hickory- Cordell Hull) The Cumberland River System (including Old Hickory and Cordell Hull and tributaries) is arguably the greatest inland Striper fishing in the country. With two recent fly rod world records to its credit including a 43 pounder on 12lb, and a 45 pounder on 6lb, we think it’s only a matter of time before more records fall. This is some of the most exciting fishing you can do, because the water is clear, the fish average11-15lbs, and many of the takes are visual.

J.Percy Priest is a fantastic Hybrid and Striper lake five minutes from the airport in Nashville. Aggressive Hybrids are our main target here and they love to eat flies. We have landed many hybrids in the 10-16 lb range. On Priest we work in conjunction with Mitch Tinney of Tinney’s Guide Service, sharing information to give you the best shot at big fish on the fly. With one or both of us on the fish every day, we have an unique advantage of knowing where the roaming fish will turn up next. If you are a striper hunter from out of state we think you will find our fly patterns and techniques to also be useful on your home water.

This can be physically demanding fishing and it’s usually best suited for an experienced angler who can handle casting a 9 weight for hours at a time, sometimes in the dark. Although most of our fishing is done from a boat, our wade fishing can be phenomenal.
