Murphy’s Riverside Lodge – Stamp River, Vancouver Island, BC

“This will be our sixth season on the Stamp River. It is the most exciting of all Canadian Rivers to fish during September and October. The river has a truly spectacular fall run of silver (Coho) and king (Chinook) salmon. Steelhead are also taken, especially in late season. The remarkable thing about the Stamp is that it is sight fishing, where anglers cast to constantly passing schools of salmon. We’re talking hot fish here, incredibly strong and fast! It is great fly fishery, however, spinning gear is also very effective. Anglers are moved on the stream by jet boat and fish, two to a guide, fishing either by wading or from the anchored boat, depending on the water. The lodge offers first class accommodations and meals. There is an 18 hole golf course nearby, perfect for an after fishing game…” Bill Hutchinson, Fishing International
