The Leading Guide Service for the Lower Sacramento River

California’s lower Sacramento river boasts fantastic year-long fishing opportunities for a huge variety of species. This phenomenal watershed is home to wild trout, steelhead, salmon, striped bass, sturgeon, largemouth and smallmouth bass, spotted bass, catfish, shad and others.

The Town of Orland, home of Orland Outfitters is about 90 minutes north of Sacramento and 55 miles south of Redding off Interstate 5. Orland Outfitters is comprised of a group of guides with more than 90 years of combined Sacramento River experience. If you love to fish – fly fish, bait fish, work plug or lure – want to learn new techniques or just enjoy the breathtaking river scenery, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better guide service than Orland Outfitters. Our state-of-the-art jet boats will take you to the fish, navigating the river, fast, comfortably and most importantly, safely.

Shad trips are one of our most popular excursions, plying local waters daily, staying on top of conditions and the schools of fish. Salmon fishing is incredible from August through October, with limits usually before noon. Steelheading in fall and winter can produce good numbers of fish ranging from 2 to 8 pounds – bait to fly fishing depending upon conditions. Trout fishing year-round, with the Redding to Anderson area producing trophy, wild Rainbows exceeding 5 pounds. Striped bass are available spring through fall. Largemouth and Smallmouth bass are a great river and nearby lake diversion.

We specialize in group outings and can arrange catered BBQ lunches, adding even more to an already spectacular day. Orland Outfitters invite you to call for further information and pricing. Please direct your calls and letters to:
