Dan and board members,
Most of you probably know that I had the pleasure and honor of fishing the last 8 Striperfests with Bill.
I stayed with him in his trailer many times throughout the Striper seasons, fished the Sacramento River for shad with him, the San Lorenzo for steelhead and the Santa Cruz area for White Seabass and rockfish.
Bill was always smiling when he was fishing and helping fishing buddies become better fly fishers. He was always patient with me as I learned how to cast lead core. He was always great company, we always had a great time fishing together, even if the "catching" was slow. It's very hard for me to imagine no longer having the opportunity to share fishing stories with him. I will miss him more than I can express. He helped me become the striper fisherman that I am. He will always be in my thoughts every time I fish the delta. He was one of the finest human beings I have ever had the pleasure to know. He was my friend. My heart aches. I will miss him terribly. God Bless you Bill Nash. We will fish together again, another place, another time. Until then, I wish you tight lines and secure knots.
