Thanks! I thought he would be shooting a long lens. I don't pack a very long lens, nothing longer than about 210 and as you know it's tough to get very close to most of those birds. I'm just not dedicated enough to put on the long lens and take a break from fishing to get those kinds of exceptional shots.
The fishing has been decent when the wind hasn't blown. I guided Monday and my clients managed 27 to 8 pounds, with lots of medium all purpose fish thrown in. Yesterday Chuck Schobb and I fun fished and we had a spectacular day with close to 80 fish with lots of 5 to 8 pounders. It was a frosty morning but when it warmed up around 10 a.m. and the sun burned off the mist, it became warm and dead still. In the area we fished there wasn't another boat but there was plenty of willing fish.
This morning my water line to the trailer is still frozen (8:20) but it is dead calm outside with frost on the window of my truck. I'll be heading out for some more fun fishing and exploring around 9 or 10 to catch the tide.
