I've just been throwing shooting heads. In this case, I was using a floating shooting head manufactured overlined by 2 weights on my 9-wt. The running line is an intermediate (SA, I believe). I'm going to try a full line at some point, but for now, I'm getting good distance with the big flies and a floating head.

I recently casted my intermediate head with the 30 lb Sufix Elite mono and it felt real, real nice. I'm going to try the floating head with the suffix and see how that goes.

I'm sure Bisharat, KD, Dan, Marcus etc. have key insight on good floating outfits.
