Not as good as a 22 pound striper, grin. That said, I can never belittle the humble perch. Any fish in the surf to me is a little miracle. I just can't fathom that there are actually fish there in those pounding waves. You'll have to ask Stan about his 3 pounder, I was too busy fighting a striper half the size of his perch when he caught the whopper but I did get pictures of that released perch for him to cherish and caress. See my response to Randall for monofiliment line. I use 20 and 15lb Amnesia. The basket was designed for Amnesia with the asumption that if it could handle that cursed shooting line conceived in Satan's workshop, it could handle anything. Dave
