Randall,
A couple of things that you probably know about that basket but others may not, you can turn those "spikes" upside down doubling the number......great for monofiliment shooting line. Also, the belt slits can split in major and continuous swampings by big waves. Easily remedied by supergluing a "ripstop" (best done as a preventative modification) made of scrap foam or plastic. And last, the bottom can be screwed into place from the outside with two stainless wood srews for severe surf, in which the bottom can be pushed up and out. The last two modifications are for extreme use an only one in a hundred will need to make them but they will make the basket bomb proof. Mine has these modifications and is going on three years of severe abuse and has another ten before it gets so dirty I'll want to replace it for cosmetic reasons!
