A master I am not but I sure love the surf.......my favorite fishery right now, but I think that's just because it's the fishery I am concentrating on at the moment.

Nice perch you caught the other day......a real whopper I suspect it was around 3 pounds and perhaps 18 inches.

As for baskets, I think the one you offer is about the best, at least in my opinion. Made out of stiff foam so it's real easy on the hands and has a great shape for stripping line into. Some prefer a basket without the open side but I think that is due to the learning curve....you have to know how to use your basket properly and then it's the best....again in my opinion. I'll add that there is a lot of temptation to make a surf basket out of the cheapest of materials as if that's a badge of honor but such an important surf fishing necessity should be well designed, durable and highly functional, most cheapy home jobs are functional but not necesarily well designed for comfort, tactile ease and tangle free bliss, cast after cast. Your basket is one heck of a product......
