| Plastic Sprinkler spikes used for holding sprinklers or drip irrigation stuff in place, works well. Also simple plastic dowels will work. About 2 to 2.5" is what you will need. The zip tie solution is a proven method as well. Like anything if you are not afraid to fool around with it you will find an answer that meets your demands. Longer casts can be had with 15 or 20 pound amnisia as a running line. It must be stretched and you must cast everything in the basket each time to avoid twist and tangles. Amnisia is a hassel but it casts farther than anything I have every seen. It is cheap--replace it often. Once it turns into wire and will not stretch anymore trash it and get some new stuff. Pay attention to the posts made by Dave Sellers he is a master surf fisherman and most of what I know I have learned from his posts etc. Do a search for beach posts and you will get filled in very quickly. |
