My friend Jim Lazarotti was a gentle giant that lived quietly among the redwoods in his own private grove. If you fished the coast, you knew big Jim. In the late 60’s-early 70’s. he helped Joe Hendricks and I write a new management plan for the San Lorenzo River and was always concerned with our fish and the sometimes callous ways agencies, that were charged with protecting our fish, operated. He stayed on top of resource and this fisherman’s fisherman was always ready to help me. In recent years we met mostly at shows and you couldn’t miss his large frame and smile coming down the aisle. There will never be anyone else quite like him and it made me very sad when I read about his death on Dan’s BB today. Rob, thanks for the post.
