Enjoyed the below postings. (And I am sure he is too !) Thanks to all ! Jim was my mentor since I met him in 1970 with my Shakespear Wonder rod and an automatic fly reel. He laughed his head off and took me down the most wonderful journey a man could ask for.....from teaching the art of tying flies to building my first rod, selecting my first steelhead reel, shooting head(s), etc. Throughout the years we shared stories and laughs...even up to the last week before his stroke. It still cracks me up how he would have me change flies before I would get out of the river.
Jim continually fought behind the scenes for protecting the fishery and would periodically have me look-up "stuff" or send out info. He was one of the real guardians of the local waters.
