I fish from a yak as well, but it's a fairly streamlined sit-in model. That plus timing the tides gives more range, and I rarely do fewer than 4-5 miles from the launch, which allows for a handful of HPS. My biggest days have been tidally assisted trips round McDonald and Bacon Islands.
