Sorry Carl,

I thought you were onto something super secret.

I have a very fine Opera Gramophone LP recording made circa 1957 and there's a scene in that which calls for some giants stacking up gold bricks into a pile high enough to hide one of the Lady Gods from sight. The special sound of the gold bricks being stacked is actually written into the music score.

But they couldn't get hold of enough Gold bricks (in Vienna) to do the scene, so they substituted Tin Bricks instead (real tin); and the Pile of tin bullion was itself so valuable that they had armed guards standing by while they recorded the sounds of the stacking. I guess real pure tine is itself very valuable.

So plane old 'luminum will do you scissors trick then ??

I'll give it a whirl. Too bad about the tin though.
