I am more concerned about real-time wind than forecasts, so I use which reports real-time wind from numerous weather stations all around the SF Bay, Delta, San Luis, etc. Very early in the morning of a day I plan to fish I check the relevant readings for that area, and decide whether to go. Forecasts are notoriously overbroad and seem to evince a concern for liability, whereas real-time wind readings are just that.

If I'm going in the ocean I use the weather buoy readings, such as Buoy 46026 which is the weather buoy 18 miles outside the Golden Gate. Those readings are real-time also, and include swell height, interval, and direction.

Works for me.
