|Vaughn met me at my trailer this morning at 7:00 a.m., right on time, loaded his gear in my skiff and followed me to the Sugar Barge boat ramp to help me launch. We started close and had a few to the boat within the first half hour. All toll today we landed more than 30 with 10 legal-sized fish to about 7- or 8-pounds. Hard pulling fish on light sticks. I had a fish 7+ and it gave me a helluva fight on my TFO Axiom II 7-weight. Got most of the fish on white/chartreuse FT Minnows although I did get my largest three on a white/pink/gray black top, jig hook FT Minnow, size 2/0. |
Another fun day on the California Delta fly-fishing for striped bass. The weather was gorgeous.
