Check out the Galapagos. I did a couple of islands at the end of May as a land based exploration with a few side excursions. The wife loved the eco adventures. She doesn’t fish. Plenty of stuff to explore and the offshore fishing is out of this world. San Cristobal is your best island base with a few things you can do on your own without a guided excursion. Fishing here is not cheap but the action for one day counts as 2 anywhere else. Food and lodging are not expensive. I have to prepare a fishing report. I wanted Dorado or Tuna. After discussing the possibilities with the captain we decided to go for Tuna. I ended up with 9 fish in a full day charter but lost 3 - sharks, knot failure, and a hook pulled. They were small fish up to 30 Lbs but that is what I wanted. I did not bring heavy tackle. My biggest rod was a 12 Wt. I can’t wait to return next year. I am not sure about the weather in October but the captain will let you know
