II'm here for the next 6 weeks. Sunday was a barn burner for yellow fin. I got two, one at 28lb and the other one was 24lb on the boga.
Then we got into some smaller dorado, catch released. Moving on down the week, yesterday was pretty bumpy for some OK for others. The rooster grab was there, lot's of them busted off, BIG FISH. Today we had a early morning south wind. Kinda bumpy going across the channel but doable. Once at the island it flattened out. The bait was much closer today. First stop was at Punta Flilas. Lot's big roosters, hungry to eat. We had a new captain today, along with another boat. A first time for our captain with fly fishing clients. I mean too tell you handfuls of bait went out and the fish were full and took off. Then we found a couple more schools that were willing to chase the fly, but no eats. Saw a huge school of red snappers on the surface eating sardina's. One of my guys got one about 7lbs, nice fish. Went to Ranchito and found a huge school of dorado, eating but not grabbing flies. By now it was really bumpy, heavy west wind created some big swells.
Hopefully we will have the captains back tomorrow for the last day.
I'm sure you heard what happened in the Lucero-Ortiz familia.
