Adam and all,

I'd be interested in what other people think of this, but struggle with this issue, too--I found if I consciously direct my forecast to be slightly "inside" of my backcast, I get a straighter cast. In other words, for right handed me, I consciously have my backcast slightly to the right and loop my forecast in slightly to the left of the backcast plane. Emphasis on "slight."

I think many of us naturally twist the rod slightly clockwise at the end of the forecast. Coming back inside your backcast with your forecast counteracts this tendency. At least, for me, that's what had been going on.

Comments welcome.
