Hello Adam,
I have not used the RIO InTouch way down South like you are planning to do. I have put many hours on them while fishing the San Joaquin Delta during the Summer, often at 100 + degrees and in Baja during the Summer. I feel that this design does have advantages like Very low stretch which helps with detecting lighter bites and perhaps setting the hook. While fishing the Delta I use a line management bucket that has water in it. In Mexico, I let the line rest on the deck which is white, but still warm to the touch in the Summer. I feel that if you were ok with the older design you will notice similar casting performance with the newer design. Post some photos of the Big'ins...
