Wives and mothers are never the topic of gentlemen...perhaps only the gentleman who self-deprecates. This board for the most part are experienced highly opinionated fly casters and flyfishpersons and are in no need of instructive, choice opinions. However, I emphasize again in the performance scoring eliminate the Loomis $1100 rod at the top then about the next 10 are within 5-7%...what this reminds me of is those contests where everyone who shows up gets a blue ribbon. If they are just rapacious profiteers they would not have let those off shore way off shore cheap ones on their list...BVK at $280.00 is 112.5 at 11th take 2% and add to its score and your equal to #6 Sage X at $900...if I am a retailer fly shop( actual fly shop not big box) assuming 50% margin on rods I make 140 on BVK and 450 on X...I would not even stock BVK ...IMHO they are reasonably, honest in their subjective I have said numerous times not only am I a gear head. I am,yes I will admit it, an elitist regarding my toys...I fish Sage and Abel, Penn Internationals and Accurate, Daiwa only JDM, Browning Superposed, Perrazi, Model 12 Skeet( I could massage any Stevens or Mossberg barrel to equal my three and restock to equal the fit but as the elitist poet once said you cannot polish the T) auto tools, wrenches, sockets and rachets are Snap-On maybe some old US craftsmen. Speaking of wives in the yesteryears...I never let the guncase or rod caae ever expand beyond the original slots just replaced that Stevens pump with the Superposed...
