I fished with Capt. Joe Shute on November 9-11 for the false albacore run in Morehead City, NC, where, it is said, 10-weights go to die. Joe has guided me many times for this run, always in early November. The weather is usually iffy, but he finds them regardless. I landed over 40 in 3 days of fishing, most ranging from 13-17 pounds.

Attached (I hope) is a video of a typical albie blitz, and a photo of a typical albie.

These are excellent fly rod fish, and Morehead City is the capital of the world for false albacore (aka little tunny, fat albert, albie).

Best fly was a 3" tan/white clouser on a size 1 hook, which closely resembled a bay anchovy; line was a Rio OBS 325 F/I, 325 grains.
