Thank you for your input. In the amazon, as part of the search routine, the guides would throw hookless "woodcutter" lures to the shorline and jerk them in. They throw water and sound off like a trolling motor. Meanwhile we would cast into the white water behind the teasers and the fish were often there just looking around from the sound. Back east there are flyfisherman that search with hookless surface plugs for schools of topwater and near topwater stripers. It's a cool way to fish poppers for sure. It works well even if nothing hits the teaser. The guides prefer loud popper flies over pole dancers even though both have caught near world record Peacocks.
