The warning issued was not to open a "Mexico Bashing" opportunity. Hell, you drive into the wrong neighbor hood in just about any state in our Union and you might find yourself in deep trouble. There are plenty of safe fishing lodges and destinations to go to in Mexico. Book a good lodge that offers transfers from the airport and back and you'll be OK. Pick up a bottle or two of booze from the airport duty free store on your way in. Christ, I hate it when someone blanket slams an entire country. I've been travelling to Baja and Mexico for decades and never had a problem. Not saying it can't happen. It happens here too guys.

Lighten up! And be damned careful where and what alcoholic drinks you consume in Mexico - at least for awhile. This issue made the National news a couple of weeks ago. Oh, but of course it could have been "fake news"... grin.
