I was on the water today just as the sun came up over the Sierra mountains. I was haunted all week by the large LMB that I did not get in. So, I bet you know where my first area to fish was.... I know this fishes address so started about 200 yards to the West. I had a great frog pattern on so started to get my casts dialed in as I approached the hot spot. I hooked up on two 2 1/2 to 3 pounders and at that point I quit casting as I got closer. So the cast to the hot spot had a little too much gas (buck fever)and the fly landed about one foot past where I wanted it to go. I let it set for perhaps 20 seconds then I popped it, Nothing...Let it set again, just slowly moved it and BINGO a very large swirl NO Grab.. During the day I visited the hot spot two other times ZERO!! I'll BE Back! So 56 total LMB's today the largest was perhaps 5 pounds, most were 1 1/2 to 2 pounders. I had the pleasure of getting to see Captain Maury Hatches new Delta boat today. Way cool.. I wonder if I will get another chance with that big LMB next week??
