Jackson Hole Wyoming Trip

I recently spent five days in Jackson Wyoming. We fished two days with guides in the back-country and one day floating the Snake River just south of town, the other two days were spent fishing streams outside of Jackson on the recommendations of our guides from Fish the Fly Guide Service and Travel in Jackson.

Fishing the back-country is an amazing experience, hikes of six to ten miles round trip at high elevation were a bit grueling but well worth it. Seeing no other people all day while casting big dry flies on a three weight rod to very willing cutthroat trout was a new experience for me and one I will not forget.
Floating the Snake was a blast! My only previous float trip experience was on the Lower Sac casting indicators, lead and two flys , so again casting big easy-to-see dries to the many seams and pockets was both intense and fun. You get one quick shot and then onto the next location.

I plan to return to Jackson next year with my wife to both fish and visit Yellowstone which has been on our bucket list for a long time. There is a lot do to around the area, I was particularly impressed with how they have it set up to walk, jog or bike out of town heading north. Miles of paved paths separate from the road with beautiful views all around. Attached are a few photos from the trip.
