Aloha, hurricane Iselle came and left us with some wind and surf damage, but most of us were spared. We had gusts of 50mph here in Hilo. the Puna coast got it much worse, with high surf and loss of power. Lots of downed trees but no deaths. My wife is a Red Cross Volunteer and she has been busy helping man evacuation centers. It was a little scary for me, I have bad memories of hurricanes in New Orleans. I was in the eye of Betsy and saw the destruction Camille did to our summer place in Bay St. Louis. But the mountains of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa protected us again. Hopefully the big ahi have not all left and the mahi are still around offshore. Bones and trevally have been on the feed inshore. Time to clean up the yard and hope this next hurricane heads north, Mems.
