The Roosterfish Foundation
Earlier this year we launched the Roosterfish Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the roosterfish through collecting scientific data to understand this incredibly powerful inshore game fish.

The roosterfish habitat is only a relative very small worldwide geographic area from the northern reaches of Peru to Mexico. Even though all fisheries have been diminishing over the last several decades, they still have subspecies in other parts of the world, including bonefish, tarpon, and permit. With the roosterfish, when they are gone, they are gone.

Many of the leading guides and outfitters in Baja have taken up the cause, not only getting memberships for themselves, but also for their captains and guides. Gary Bulla Fly Fishing, Jay Murakoshi Fly Fishing, Jonathan and Jill Roldan of Tailhunter International, and Richard Mucciaccio of Baja Pirates Fly Fishing to name a few.

Please review the Roosterfish Foundation Facebook page and the Foundation’s web site. There is a lot of information generating there, as we are taking our small steps to make the Foundation a success. More members would be appreciated, including clubs and your friends. Please spread the word.
