On my last trip out, I noticed what I thought was a piece of lint on the very end of a (male ferrule) rod section. The rod is a NRX 1089 (9' 9wt NRX). Thought I wiped it off, assembled the rod and went fishing. After the day was done, when I was disassembling the rod, I noticed it again. Weird deal - it was actually a very thin 'ribbon' of blank material. I actually had to run my nail to find it. The 'ribbon' was about as wide as a tiny sliver and maybe 1 1/2" long. It was in the same axis of the rod. Note that this section would be completely covered when the rod is assembled.

I filled out the online warranty form, packed the rod and sent it off to Washington via UPS. It should have been there last week Friday but weather delays caused it to be delivered Tuesday. Imagine my surprise when the FedEx driver dropped off my rod today. Actually, I didn't get my rod back.....I received a brand new rod!!!!!

I went from dreading not having a rod for weeks to receiving a brand new stick in one week including two days of shipping delays!!!!
