First are you lining your rod with the rated ROS line? They are up-lined by a bit better than two weights as most 30-foot, standard shooting heads are. If you up-lined your rod is probably over-loaded.
If you are using the rated line (and 8 for an 8 for example) then you need to find the sweet spot with regard to over-hang. Not too much, not too little. I have never found any ROS line trouble to cast, although I do dump a cast now and then when I'm in a hurry to re-cast and don't extend the proper overhang.
Like Henry says, I'd have to see what your casting stroke looks like. Both the intermediate and floater are of large diameter which make them a lot more air-resistant than the sinkers; which means your backcast much be tight-looped, as well as the forecast.
