HAve both a TM (12 volt with wiereless remote) and PP on the 17ft Hewes. PP stays on all the time and TM can be on/off in less than 3 minutes.

Also have a leaning/grab type piece now on my platform, all three maybe a function of age, but I dare say that they are a function of fishing for multiple species from the flats (grass/mud/sand) and marshes to coastal rivers and nearshore along the beach.

Tarpon/bonefish guides may need to stay with what they are comfortable with and what their clients want, but like a previous poster stated, all these things are tools to allow us to cast effectively to more.

The "stick it" type pin anchors or even an old mushroom anchor, Hell even some barbells bought at Walmart or Dicks Sporting Goods are tools, but in the right hands can be damn helpful!

Have fished with the GPS TMs (don't own one), and if money wasn't an issue I'd probably buy one, but might never learn how to use it, like my iPhone!!!

Good Fishing!!!
