The electronic anchor feature behaves just as an anchor, so the boat will be subject to current and wind as you mention but it will stay put, and not get blown out of or into the school. As for working a weed line or rock wall, holding the boat in position for two anglers is much easier with the ipilot. But your point about spending the extra 400. plus bucks for the upgrade to your current unit is well taken.......that can buy a lot of gas, a new lens or be a nice down payment on some exciting fishing travel. A whole new ipilot enabled unit is around 1200. bucks, it ain't cheap, especially when you are happy with your current model. As you say, if you are happy with what you have, no need to change.
