I been a Loreto fan for the last 14 years in a row, I usually go 3 1/2 week to a Month every year.
I have been there late June-early July and late July thru the beginning of August. I have found that the last 10 days of June and the first 10 days of July have always out fished just about any other time period. I based that information on my trip reports compared to other reports from this same bulletin board. In the earlier time periods we have tons of Sailfish and Marlin to brighten your day, plus we have large pods of Dorado for easy pickings. And of course we always have the Roosters no matter what time period you chose. I wouldn't ever base my trip on thinking what the Sardines are going to do, or if they even show up. As the water temps heats up, those big packs of Billfish seem to migrate to a little cooler water along with the big Dorado, also in the hotter weather along with the warmer water temps, it seems like we have more Dorado, however more on the smaller size.
If you stay at the Oasis hotel, and most people do, you will find the groups are much smaller in June and Early July then in the later time frames, the hotel service is better You get to pick the bigger rooms, and you also get your pick of the better Captains. I would recommend calling fishing international and get any other information you may need. Or send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org I hope some of this helps you.
