Delta Today with Noel de Guzman

I haven't fished with Noel since we partnered up at Loreto a few years ago. Today we got out and it was a good day to be on the delta.

I was in my boat barn waiting for Noel to show up at 10 a.m. in his car. Man was I surprised when he pulled up to the dock in his skiff. His wife needed the car so he drove from his home in Disco to the Sugar Barge. It only took him about 5 minutes longer than by car - albeit a bit colder...

We covered a lot of water today under calm but cloudy conditions. The water temp was the same as yesterday, about 45 degrees on my finder.

We ended up with more than 30 fish to hand, a couple dropped. We had some really fun sessions in shallow water - 4 to 6 feet deep using I-lines; and ended up the day with a serious bite along a shallow weed line, hooking and landing 15 or more very decent fish.

We had a great time and it was another perfect day on the delta for 2014. Tomorrow I fish with Nigel Robson and I hope we can find a few to.

We did run into Bob Arwine and his pal and they were having a good day too. They were catching their's with flies armed with the pulse disk.
