After missing last year due to a leak in the gas tank and some serious repairs, I knew I had to make the fall run up to the Delta. Having come up over the years and fished with Dan, KD and others, as well as following this board, it is truly and amazing place that needs to be visited.

I poised the question to Capt. Vaughn and he jumped at the chance to come up. The word spread to Dave and Alex also. Game on, SoCal guys making the drive. Easy trip, stay at the Sugar Barge, boat is in the water, hang with great folks, dinner at the Rusty Port Hole and learn from the locals.

We have good fishing each day and I even had a guy come down from Truckee that needed a spot on a boat for the Simms Day. Well, between Trent, Vaughn and myself we were well over 50 fish for the few hours in the AM prior to heading back for the Simms program. Nothing huge, but fun with bent rods all AM.

It was a great trip and even though we did not bag the big one, there was plenty of action for all of us.

Sincere thanks to Dan for all he does for this amazing place and those who support it, thanks for sharing with us.

All the best,

Capt. Bill

PS - Dan, don't forget to send me a copy of the Lefty photo.
