Actually, it's becoming an annual invasion by Captain Bill Matthews and pals. It just shows how addictive the delta can be to serious fly-anglers. I guided Captain Bill and a few of his buddies years ago and Bill has been coming back on his own, pulling his skiff up from southern California to spend a few days each fall chasing delta stripers.

This year he brought reinforcements - Captain Vaughn Podmore, Dale Valedez and Matt Wilson along with Alex Caday and Hal Cady (they also towed their skiffs up).

From reports they did pretty well and for the "first-timers" - well, suffice it to say, they are now addicted too. They sure hit the weather right.

We all got together for an after-fishing drink at my RV last evening, shot the bull a bit and told stories, Bill recalling his first trips to the delta and more. It was a fun time! Thanks for stopping by guys. Post a report and some photos when you get settled back in Southern CA.
