It's been a number of years since I've had the pleasure of fishing with old friend, and associate guide, Doug Lovell. We both were guiding for more than 15 years and that pretty much kept us from getting together for a fun-fishing outing.

We hit the water today around 7:30 a.m. and fish until around 4 p.m. We had a great day, covering a lot of water. We ended up with more than 20 fish, many good ones. the best of the bunch were a 12- and 14-pounder, with several 7- to 10-pounders tossed in. Of course we caught lots of medium-all-purpose fish.

Top fly for me was my usual Jig Hook FT Clouser in white/yellow/chart - blue top. Doug got them on a couple of different FT Whistlers.

Both of us used T-14 lines and I did well along a weed line fishing a RIO Outbound Short Intermediate.

Thanks for a great day Doug! Lets not wait so long before we get out together again.
