Humboldt Bay

Had a really killer outing on Humboldt Bay today. It was really fishy out there. Probably the best water clarity I've ever experienced. Pelicans, gulls, loons, cormorants and terns were all blitzing the bay entrance. Baitfish could be seen in tight to the jetty rocks; even saw a ling cod rip through them at one point. Six fish to hand. Numerous follows and hookups. Good fish diversity, but I'm still hoping for a striper someday :)

In the four years I've been fly fishing Humboldt Bay, I've only seen two other fly fisherman. This is a seriously untapped resource. But I don't mind having it all to myself. :)
