|Old friend Jim Solomon is up from So. Cal. to fish three days with me. Jim is a very accomplished all-round angler who has caught a number of good stripers from the southern CA surf plus lots of corbina.|
He has fished the delta with me before so he is no newbie to the scene. We started off this morning close to home and on Jim's 5th cast he nailed a nice 11-pounder that pulled like a much larger fish. Nice start for sure.
We fished hard until about 5 p.m. and covered a ton of water running 8 gallons through the new F115. It was a tough day and we had to work hard for about 15 fish. Jim caught another nice one, an 8-pounder and a few other sub-legal fish.
I landed a few but only one legal of about 4-pounds and I dropped a good one.
Despite the slow fishing we had a great time and we're looking forward to a couple of more days of chasing delta stripers together.
Oh, same flies, same lines - water temp 64. Clarity better around Franks but not bad on the SJ.
