I have an outboard with removable tanks. If the outboard won't be used in the next day or so I disconnect the fuel line while it is running to get most of the fuel out of the engine with some choke as it starts to sputter out of fuel.
I've been told to store the fuel tanks in a cool location. As the season winds down I try to use up the fuel but if it is two-stroke fuel with TWC-3 oil additive don't pour it into your vehicle's gas tank unless you want to replace the catalytic converter.
