The rising water at Ute has finally stabilized with a 3 ' gain. Huge schools of baitfish are prevalent. Schools of White Bass are crashing the bait one time, next it can be a school of Smallmouth and even the Largemouth are roaming the dropoff in schools. Walleyes have not shown up yet, water might still be too warm, but schools of Channel Cat are present also. I wade out to waist deep water a few feet back from the dropoff and make a long cast. The take comes on the fall or as I drag the fly up the slope. The Flashtail Clouser that Dan showed in an earlier post for Striper is the fly right now. Shad pattern.
