|I checked in about 5:00 in the afternoon, and conditions were perfect for a calm evening, and some top water action. Nope.|
With clear, warm conditions on the coast, it seemed to be a good day to fish San Luis, in and around the weedbeds. Unfortunately, Monday would have been THE day, as the wind kicked up just about sunset. Oh well, it's ALMOST September! Grin!
The weedbeds are perfect right now, with no weedcutting in sight, and there were enough of the bigger schoolies around to make it interesting. I ended up with 4 of the 24+" fish, and bunch of their smaller cousins.
Right at sunset, the top water bite really busted loose, even in the growing wind, and it turned out to be a great evening.
The smelt are prolific, the damsels are hatching, and the stripers are healthy and strong. This September/October should bring some great top water action!
Hope to see some of you folks out there.
