Do you know what your max settings yielded ..as in max drag on the your and the Super 12 reels...5-12 lb.?? and what was the weakest link test/lb on the GT rigs 16, 20, 30 lb.??
Taken at straight pull full spool with flyline; then try at backing to see how much of an increase. I set my Super 9 and 4N and Super 12 static 2-3 lb full/flyline spool for 16-25 tippets. The Abel/Tibors cork ramp up slowly(compared to sealed composite/carbon rulon etc) and are difficult to replicate drag increases during the fight so I just use my palm...also pulling line off the reel with 5-6 lbs drag is a pain btw I still use neatsfoot on my Abels but then I just use them for FLA flats.
