|Maybe you could try Fluorescent/Phosphorescent Chartruse rather than pink, with some flash. Just a guess about the billies visual apparatus. Has funny vision?|
And put the hook first and the segments last to increase the tail waggling.
My tests with a 15 foot Talon Midgar, with a 68 foot head and roll cast indicated that the tail of the fly wiggles in relation to the fly velocity, which is relative to the tip lift rate.
This was done because of my research into taking billfish off the rocks, using DH 12/13 foot rods and big/long deceiver flies and finding out the best presentation of the fly.
I did the test off the local reef, using the DH 15 footer roll casting, about 80 feet, rather rapidly, like one cast every 5/10 seconds. Fly wiggle was kind of amazing and it tended to wiggle in relation to the tail first, and the body last. Like little fish would do when hitting hurry up speeds. Interesting though.
