|The first schools of pinks should be rounding the corner out of the straits and into the sound any day now, if it already hasn't happened. |
Salmon fishing just opened on the July 1st.You can keep pinks and coho right now and kings starting the 16th. Fish the west side beaches on the island for your best shot at salmon. Fishing was slow last weekend up will continue to improve as the summer moves along.
The forecast this year is for around 900K coho and 6 million pinks.
Whidbey doesn't offer great searun cutt fish but there are fish around. You're more likely to find them on the east side and south end of the island. Camano Island offers some pretty good cutt fishing.
The upper forks of the Snoqualmie and Skykomish off lots of water to drop a dry fly into. The fish are eager, but most are rather small. You can also fish the Sky for summerrun steelies.
Hope this helps.
