You almost can't buy a bad rod these days - nor a bad line if you get one from a top line company - I agree it's the caster, not the rod, that makes the difference.

I would say that softer, slower rods might help soften the cast - aid with more delicate presentations, but accuracy has to do with the caster's skill and conditions such as wind.
