The pleasure was all mine. Since I talked to you the fishing has been great until yesterday. It seems the tarpon vanished. None are pushing on the runs . Some believe they went offshore to spawn but not sure. A buddy of my flew the beaches yesterday and saw no fish. Who knows.
I sure hope you had a great trip. Those fish along that stretch of the beach are really hard to feed due to two things. Water clarity is one. When the water is gin clear the fish wise up. Also, due to the clear water the fish are easy for anglers to locate and lots of pressure put on them all the way down the beaches in front of the island. Very late in the day after afternoon storms clear the tend to respond better in low light conditions and boat traffic has been run off by lightning.
Please stay in touch and give me a heads up when you are going to return. I'll help you get set up with a guide for sure.
Today I am fishing a marine biologist who has been very helpful in our effort to get the gear proposal passed. He flew down from Chigaco. Boy, I hope the poons show for him. The weather here went crazy last night. I am living on my boat in the marina. For the first time I wished I didn't have a 43 foot tuna tower above me. Lighting was hitting everywhere . The biologist was to land in Tampa and we were flying him here via sea plane but not possible. His plane was diverted to Orlando and arriving this morning in Boca Grande for three days or so.
Thanks again for stopping on the beach to talk. Look forward to seeing you down here again.
