Right now the snook are gathered up in large groups right along the shallows just off the sand. In most cases less that ten feet from sand. Floating line with longer leader is most productive. Your best results will be to walk along beach staying thirty feet back from waters edge. Otherwise you end up spooking the fish out. Crouching down when casting also helps and placing only the leader ahead of fish is helpful. Low light conditions are best. I often seen anglers wading out and with no success. Snook wise up quickly so moving to fresh groups is best.
