It's personal. If you want to keep a legal fish now and then for food, I can't object to that. What I do object to is the "meat packers" having to kill their limit every time out even if they fish 6 days a week. I'm of the old "Don't kill your limit, limit your kill" school.

It really grates on me when I see the same old "trophy-hunters" killing every big fish they catch just for bragging rights - especially stripers. Those big fish aren't fit to eat but they are hugely valuable as spawners to keep the fishery viable.

If I keep a striper to eat it will be over 4-pounds and under 8-pounds. And, it's rare I keep one to eat; but if I do, I'm not going to confession over it.
