All of the Keys sliders I've even seen or have used are basically simple "mouse" type flies with loosely spun dear hair heads and a little hair for a tail. They just need to wake. Captain Ray Fecher and I had some fun days using them when conditions were right. You don't need anything fancy.

I remember once when I had Tyler Stone for my guest partner, Tyler waking a Joe Blados crease fly and getting the most horrendous blown-ups on tarpon up on Lavina Bank. He jumped a couple but couldn't stay hooked up. When the poons get to feeding on those little perch-like baitfish (can't recall their name), something waking like that can work quite well.
